Perception of the negative spaces.
'Exploring the concept of what is space; the solid and void.'
Final Major Projection: on my foundation course through the discipline of Architecture (3D pathway). I was investigating the proposal of perception of solid and void spaces, through exploring various architecture buildings. I wanted to question how does an audience navigates and investigates in a space and how does spaces shape our lives. Also what alters the perception of space and the emotional response to an assortment of particular spaces in different environments. Human responses to architecture range from feelings of comfort, safety, pleasure, excitement or the complete opposite such as fear or unease.
We frequently shape the spaces around us throughout our daily lives, from placing certain furniture in a living room. Ultimately architecture connects us to time, place and people and we as humans connect to architecture because it shapes our environment. Certain architecture buildings were designed or formed to highlight the different aspects of space such as the manipulation of light, mass and structure to the transformation by use, movement and interaction.
